SERVICES

SUPERVISED CONTACT

This is used if there is potential risk of harm to a child or a child  is at risk of suffering harm during contact. Our centre ensures the physical safety and emotional well-being of children in a one-to-one observed setting.

A qualified worker supervises the contact session between the non-resident parent and child or children at all times.  Comprehensive report is then completed and sent to the relevant professionals.

SUPPORTED CONTACT

Where there is no significant risk to the child identified, supported contact is suitable for the family. Staff and volunteers are available to help but there is no close observation, monitoring or detailed reports required. Families may have to share a contact room with each other. Your child safety and welfare is paramount and our first priority.

ESCORTED CONTACT

The child and non-resident parent are accompanied on visits to places such as local parks and shops. However, escorted contact is classified as supervised contact and report is provided.

HANDOVERS

The centre is used for a short period as a drop off / pick up point. Again, parents do not have to meet. The handover is facilitated by the centre’s staff or volunteers.  The non-resident parent will take the child out of the centre for the duration of the visit. Once the visit is ended, the child is brought back to the centre, where the child is picked up by the resident parent afterwards.

COMMUNITY CONTACT

This can be used when a family has used our centre on three or four occasions.  This contact can then be arranged for the family to go out in the community rather than the contact centre.  The contact arrangement is made prior to the session and this may include parents’ homes. Reports is provided for this contact
